General information:
Shibuya is the sakariba (party town) of the youth of Tokyo. You will find the latest fashion, food, music and technical gadgets. Nice stores are Shibuya Hikarie, Tokyu, Shibuya 109, Shibuya Mark City, Tokyu Hands, Sheibu, Loft, Parco and Marui. This district has developed itself after the Olympic Games of 1964 by the prosperity of the youth. Outside the station you will find two interesting things, firstly a statue of the dog Hachiko, this dog waited every day for his boss to come out of the train, it continued doing so even years after the death of his boss. It has become a popular meeting point. Secondly the large intersection in front of the station. Each time the lights turn green thousands of people cross the streets. It is a very popular spot to make photos or films (Lost in Translation).
